Fieldstone Community Update

Hello Everybody,

Just a quick note to thank everyone who came to the Fieldstone General Meeting Wednesday night. We were treated to a news scoop from County Executive Smith and Councilman Oliver. The Fieldstone Group was the first to hear that Randallstown will be getting a Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and national chain restaurant in the near future. The Home Depot and restaurant will be located in Brenbrook Plaza near the old Kmart store site, and the Wal-Mart will be located in Liberty Plaza where Marshall's is located. We understand that Marshall's will be staying. We also understand that a new Randallstown Community Center is in the works, but the location was not announced.

We want everyone in the community to receive this information quickly, particularly for the members who could not attend. Please let your neighbors know if they don't have email capability.

Fieldstone Community Update

Hello Everybody,

We want to thank everyone who came to the Fieldstone Community's 8th Annual Picnic on Sunday. We had approximately 100 people attend and enjoy wonderful food, games, prizes, raffles, and talking with their friends and neighbors. It was a very enjoyable afternoon for all. We also want to thank the local businesses who donated prizes for the raffles (Martins Food of Eldersburg; Wal-mart of Eldersburg; Giant at Offutt Road; Tom's Sports Tavern of Randallstown) and the picnic volunteers who worked very hard to make it a success (Dave Bryan; Darlene Woods; Karen Soltis; Sabrina Rivera; Jon Frank; David Frank; Tim Clark). Community spirit was evident throughout the entire picnic from the adults to the children. Let's look forward to next year and our 9th Annual Fieldstone Picnic.

April 13, 2004

Hello Everyone,

I would like to thank everybody who came to the Fieldstone Community General Meeting last week. There were many interesting topics discussed and I want to be sure all members of the community know about them.
This will be a quick overview. If anyone wants additional information please let me know.

Zoning -- The Fieldstone community is fighting a zoning request from Mr. Syed for an assisted living facility he would like to develop on his property located on Liberty Road and Stonehaven Road. The meetings for this issue are as follows: April 28, 7pm, Liberty Family Resource Center (Mr. Syed's presentation to the community); May 19, 6:30pm, Randallstown Library (Councilman Ken Oliver's meeting with the community); June 22, 7pm, Randallstown High School (final County Council Hearing on District 4 zoning issues).

Fieldstone Web Site -- Our web site is now up and running. Please check it out at www.fieldstonecommunitygroup.com. Pictures of many of the homes in the neighborhood are included along with a Calendar Section, Historic Section, COP Section, etc. Please send your comments after viewing. A new member of our community, Sylvia Weirs, was instrumental in putting the site together for the community. She has accepted my offer of being the Fieldstone web site coordinator. Thanks Sylvia.

Historic District -- Baltimore County is printing the official Historic Guidelines for Fieldstone and hopes to have them in the mail to all historic district homeowners by the end of April. This will provide the guide for external home repairs, additions, etc., and historic tax credits. Call Dave Bryan for details at 410-655-6512 or djbryan@comcast.net.

UDAT -- A great presentation was put on by Baltimore County presenters Jay Doyle, Dave Green, and Tony Basemore. The first phase of the UDAT proposals for Randallstown should start to happen in the next 18 months.

The next general meeting for the Fieldstone Community Group will be Wednesday, June 2, 7pm., at the Liberty Family Resource Center. Please mark your calendars.
